About The Association of African Affairs


The Association of African Affairs (AAA) is a registered charity and company. It achieved company and charitable status in 2001.

The objectives of AAA are the promotion of any charitable purposes for the benefit of the people of Africa, namely and in particular the inhabitants of Ethiopia and also people of African descent living in Yorkshire to -

  1. relieve poverty sickness and the distress arising therefrom;
  2. preserve and protect health;
  3. advance education; and
  4. protect and conserve the environment.

The Association of African Affairs aims to achieve two objectives:-

  1. To support Africans in need, especially asylum seekers and refugees,
    living in Leeds and the surrounding area.
  2. To carryout sustainable community development projects in Ethiopia in an effort to contribute to the solution of the worsening humanitarian situation in the country. The current interest of the Association in Ethiopia is to supply second hand computers and books to disadvantaged primary and secondary schools in rural Ethiopia.
